My medals
Your medals, and not only yours: the page gathers three collections into one single list.
- the medals awarded to you, as a player;
- those awarded to your horses — and it is generous: any horse of which you are owner, trainer, jockey or breeder counts here;
- those awarded to your clan.
Each line gives the competition, the date (to the month), the colour — medal or cup, in gold, silver or bronze —, the type of recipient and their name.
Here you can neither modify nor delete anything: a medal belongs to whoever awarded it. Only that manager can correct it or erase it, and they can do so without warning.
The three ways of receiving one
A competition manager awards you one. That is the most common case. The manager chooses the recipient — horse, player or clan —, the name of the event and the distinction. The conditions of award are whatever they decided, and they generally publish them on their competition forum: see Forums.
A cup final. The game automatically awards gold, silver and bronze to the first three horses in a final. See horse racing.
A quinto won on a cup final. It is the only bet that brings medals, and they go to the player, not to the horse. You have to have found the first five of a cup final — the five horses that finish in front, in any order. That is the subject of the next section, and it deserves reading.
Quinto medals transform themselves
Here is the invisible mechanism of this page, the one that makes people think there is a bug when they come across it without knowing it: quinto medals are consumed to manufacture better ones.
With each quinto won, the game looks at the quinto medals you hold for the current month:
| What you have for the month | What you receive |
|---|---|
| fewer than 4 bronzes | one more bronze |
| at least 4 bronzes | the 4 bronzes disappear, replaced by a silver |
| at least 4 bronzes and 4 silvers | the 4 bronzes and the 4 silvers disappear, replaced by a gold |
Spread over a month, that gives: the first four quintos give four bronzes; the fifth erases them and replaces them with a silver; then one more silver every five quintos; and at the twenty-fifth, the four bronzes and the four silvers are erased to leave a gold.
Five quintos in the month are worth a silver, twenty-five are worth a gold.
The two things that surprise
Your number of medals goes down. A player who had four bronzes and wins a fifth quinto does not end up with five medals but with one. It is not a loss: it is a promotion, and it is deliberate — a silver medal is worth more than four bronzes.
The counter starts again from zero each month. Only the quinto medals of the current month enter the calculation. Three bronzes won in the last days of a month will stay bronzes for ever: they will never serve to obtain a silver.
The escalation therefore rewards a run within the month, not a patient collection. If you are aiming at silver and one quinto is missing at the end of the month, now is the time to play it.
Where to see other people's medals
On the card of a horse, a player or a clan, through their Medals button. And for the whole world, month by month, see Medals.
