Add a friend

Adding a player to your friends list. One single field: their username, which has to be exact — otherwise the window answers Username not found and adds nothing.

What the friends list is for

It is not a social network: there is neither a request to accept, nor any reciprocity, and the person is not told. It is a personal address book, and it serves two very concrete purposes.

• Writing faster. In the new message window, an Add list offers your friends one by one: no more typing the username without a mistake. See Write a message.
• Spotting them in the chat. In the list of connected players, you can mark somebody as friend, neutral or ignored. See Chats.

Who to put in it

The people you write to often, and that is all: the trainer of your horses, the jockey who rides them, the breeder you take your matings from, the active members of your clan, the manager whose competitions you follow.

A short list is more useful than a long one, since its only interest is finding a username at a glance.

Where to manage it

In My account, on the My friends page, which lists your friends and lets you remove some. The button for adding a friend also appears on each player's card, which is the most natural way: you add somebody at the moment you have just met them.
