Version 7 options
The whole look of the site is set here. These are the options that change the comfort of play the most, and it is worth spending a moment on them once and for all.
Language
The language of the interface. It can be locked for the time being, and the window then tells you so.
Graphic style
Four liveries: Clear, Dark, Pastel and Flashy. They only change the colors and the contrasts, never where things are — you will lose no landmarks by trying.
Clear is the default livery, the one you have if you do not touch anything. It takes up the shades of the previous version of the game: if you are coming from Sulkyland 6 and find the site familiar, that is why.
The other three take a stand. Dark is a comfort setting, for bright screens and late sessions. Pastel takes the side of nature and sport: forest green and water, with a sunny yellow for whatever you need to act on. Flashy is the exact opposite: high contrast, saturated colors. Do not confuse it with dark mode — it is dark too, but it is a style, not a comfort.
Font size
By default, Small or Large. Small fits more lines on the screen, which is precious on large lists; Large makes the game readable without glasses.
List presentation
This is the most structuring setting in the game, and it deserves a try on both sides.
- Card list: each item takes a block, with its information one piece under the other. Comfortable on a phone, pleasant to browse, but you see few at a time.
- Continuation of rows in a table: one row per item, in columns. Dense, comparative, made for large stables — it is in a table that you see twenty horses at a glance.
- Table with N rows per page: the same table, but paginated instead of scrolling. Those used to v6 will find their bearings again, and it is the only mode where you can jump to a particular page.
- Automatic: cards on a narrow screen, a table on a wide one. The right choice if you play sometimes on a phone, sometimes on a computer.
Worth knowing: in paginated mode, the filters go into the query, and a criterion the page cannot translate into a search is then not offered. It is not a display fault — it is the price of pagination.
Columns displayed
How many of the three panels — menu, list, card — fit side by side.
- One column: one panel at a time. That is phone mode.
- Two columns: menu and list, or list and card.
- Three columns: everything at the same time. Comfortable on a large screen, and that is where the game is steered fastest.
- Top-of-page menu and floating cards: the layout of the old version, with its horizontal menu bars.
- Automatic: the game chooses according to the width of your screen. It is the setting to leave if you have no opinion.
Presentation in tabs
Show tabs or Show vertically. In tabs, you click to move from one panel to another; vertically, everything follows on and you only have to scroll.
This only concerns windows with several panels, and there are not so many of them: betting, the test, training — the three you will meet most — as well as the genealogy, a horse's notepad and the preparation of a race.
A horse's card, for its part, has no tabs: it is all of one piece, and this setting does not affect it.
One exception to know, so as not to take it for an oversight: a player's card keeps its two tabs, Avatar and Colors, even if you have chosen the vertical display. That is deliberate — they are two images, and putting them one after the other would bring nothing.
Vertical is simpler with a mouse, tabs are clearer when there is a lot of content.
Filters
Folded by default or Unfolded by default. Folded, the filters come down to one line saying what is active, and unfold with a click. Unfolded, they are always visible — handy if you change criteria constantly, cluttering otherwise.
