Discussions
A forum's discussions. The page title recalls which one, and the word Forums before it leads back to the list of forums.
Reading a card
- The discussion's title, which opens it.
- Its number of readings.
- Two possible icons: a padlock if the discussion is locked, a pin if it is priority.
- Its author and its date of creation, then the beginning of the first message.
- At the foot of the card, the number of replies, then who replied last and when.
Priority discussions always come first, whatever sort is chosen. They are the ones the moderators have pinned because they deserve to be read before the others — terms, announcement, reference discussion. Start with them.
The two buttons
Informations opens the forum's card: its summary, the list of its moderators and its terms and conditions. To be read once before writing, it is the rule of the place. See Forum.
Create a discussion appears only if you have the right — see just below.
Who can write
The right to write is decided forum by forum, and there are three cases.
- In an ordinary forum, everybody can open a discussion and reply. That is the case of the very great majority of them.
- In a few, only the moderators open discussions; the replies, though, stay open to all. That is the case of the news forums.
- In a clan forum, only the clan's members get in — the others receive You are not allowed to post in this forum.
And in every case, a player barred from communicating by the moderation can neither open nor reply until their sanction runs out.
The non-subscribers' quota
It is a limit better known about before meeting it. On the public forums, a player without a subscription can, per 24 hours:
- open one single discussion;
- post ten replies.
The count is global — it adds up all the public forums, not one by one — and it rolls over the last twenty-four hours, with no reset at midnight. Subscribers and moderators are not subject to it, and clan forums are not concerned.
The filters
The sort — last activity, date of creation, or title — and the author. The sort by creation is useful on an old forum: it shows the discussions in the order they were born in, which reads like a history of the forum.
A discussion does not live for ever
A discussion that is no longer read for six months is deleted with all its replies. It is not moderation, it is automatic cleaning — but it means that a reference discussion survives only if it is consulted. If something has to last, ask a moderator to pin it.
To open a discussion and reply in it, see Discussion.
