Add an advertisement

The window that places a small advertisement. It begins by recalling the conditions, and they deserve to be read before writing.

The conditions

  • You have to be a subscriber. Without a subscription, the window says so and offers nothing.
  • It costs 10,000 sulkies, debited at creation. If you do not have them, the advertisement is refused.
  • Four advertisements being broadcast at most: beyond that, you have to wait for one of the four to finish — that is, for its displays to be used up or its 48 hours to have passed.

What you are buying

Two things, and it is the first that counts:

  • the title is displayed in the site's advertising banner, up to 10,000 times and for 48 hours at most — the first of the two limits reached stops the broadcast;
  • the whole advertisement stays consultable on the small advertisements page, and it stays there after the broadcast ends.

In other words, you are buying ten thousand displays of one single sentence. So everything hangs on the title.

The three fields

Language — six choices, from French to Italian. It commands who will see the advertisement: it is broadcast to the players of that language. Write in the language of the people you are aiming at, not necessarily in your own.

Title (summary) of the ad — a hundred characters, and ten at the minimum: the game refuses a title that is too short and asks you to be more explicit. It is the only constraint of form, and it goes in the right direction. “Looking for a jockey” will be ignored ten thousand times; “Looking for a regular jockey for a stable of 20 trotters, share negotiable” will be read.

Details of the ad — the complete text, the one somebody who opens your advertisement will see. Say in it what has to be done next: write to you, find you in the chat, look at such and such a sale.

What is allowed

The window is explicit: any type of advertisement, connected with the game — looking for a jockey, clan recruitment — or not — selling equipment, publicity for a site. On the other hand, personal messages, insults, defamation and provocation are forbidden; an advertisement is not a private message, and what is written in it is seen by everybody.

Afterwards

The advertisement can be changed and can be withdrawn from the list. And there you follow its two counters — Seen and Read — which will tell you whether your title worked: see Advertisement.
