Message sent

A message you have sent. The card is the same as for a message received — header, text, active links, history of the exchange: see Message received.

Two things are particular to it.

You know whether it has been read

It is the least known function of the messaging, and it is worth knowing: when your receiver opens your message, your copy is marked read as well.

In the list of your Sent, that shows in the date: displayed in bold, it signals a message nobody has yet opened. And the messaging's Mark filter lets you display only those.

It is the tool that is often missing in a game: before chasing somebody who does not answer, look at whether they have even read it. A message unread for three days points to an absent player, not to a player who is ignoring you — and the conclusion is not the same.

What you can do with it

The Reply, Reply to all and Forward buttons work as elsewhere, and the Other menu offers to move it to Archives or to the Trash, or to delete it definitively. There is no Mark as unread here: that mark belongs to your receiver, not to you.

One month, and that is all

A message sent is kept one month, against six months for the copy received by your correspondent. It is the shortest span in the messaging after the trash can.

If the exchange is about something that matters — an agreement on a contract, a price, a promise of a mating — do not count on your Sent to keep the trace of it. Copy it into your Private Notepad.
