Message received
A message received, read in full: its sender's avatar, the header, the text, and the history of the exchange.
It is the same card for all four messaging folders — only the filing destinations change. See My messages.
The header
Five lines: the sender, the world they wrote from, the receivers — a message can have several —, the date and the title.
The world deserves a look: a message from Almina talks about Almina horses, and the links it contains lead there.
The body of the message
The text of the message. A player's is plain text, with one exception: the address of a card they obtained by the Share button is displayed as a link, which opens the card on the spot. Any other address stays as text, to be copied into your address bar.
The automatic messages, for their part, carry real active links, and that is where it is of most use: the one announcing that you have been outbid opens the sale, the one inviting you to a race opens the race, the one inviting you into a clan opens your requests page. One click, and you are where there is something to do.
The buttons
Reply and Forward are in plain sight. The Other menu holds the rest:
- Reply to all, if the message had several receivers.
- Mark as unread — particular to the Received folder, and very handy: opening a message marks it read, and so makes it disappear from your counter. If you opened it without having time to deal with it, put it back to unread.
- Move to Archives or to Trash.
- Definitive deletion.
Opening a message marks it read
And not only at your end: your reading is reported on the sender's copy, in their Sent. So they will know that you have read it. The reverse serves you too: see Message sent.
If it is an automatic message
A box tells you which type it is — “horse bought”, “race cancelled”, “care taking fees” — and offers a direct link to stop receiving that type of message. It is the best moment to do it: you know exactly what it is about. See Automatic messages.
The history at the bottom
Under the message, the exchange that preceded it: sender, receiver, date and text of each message, from the most recent to the oldest. The whole conversation is there, and it will follow your replies.
Bear that in mind before forwarding: the third party will receive the whole exchange, not just the last message.
