Message in the trash can

A message put in the trash can. It reads like any other — header, text, active links, history: see Message received.

It is still there, and not for long

That is the essential point of this page. The trash can is not a particular state, it is a folder like the others: the message is intact, and the Other menu lets you take it back out to Received, Sent or Archives. It then picks up its normal lifespan again.

But it has to be done quickly: a message in the trash can is deleted the next day. The game does its cleaning every night, and nothing recovers it afterwards.

Sulkyland's trash can is therefore not that of an ordinary mailbox, where one finds a letter again months later. Treat it as what it is: a twenty-four-hour airlock. If you hesitate over a message, archive it instead of throwing it away — that costs nothing and leaves you six months.

The rest

Reply, Reply to all and Forward work normally: a message in the trash can is still a message. And Definitive deletion is there if you do not want to wait for the night.

To empty the trash can of several messages at once, go through the list's actions menu: see My messages.
