Connected players

The list of all the players present in the chat, whatever room they are in. It opens with the Connected button.

What it shows

At the top, the room you are in — or the note that you are in none — and the number of people connected to the chat.

Then, for each of them: their username, which leads to their card, and the room they are in. Those who are in your room are highlighted, which lets you see at a glance who is with you and who is elsewhere.

Usernames are displayed in the writing colour each person has chosen, the same as that of their messages: that is how you come to associate a colour with somebody.

The four actions

Friend, Neutral, Ignored — your personal classification of that person, which they do not see.

Ignored is the genuinely useful action: the messages of an ignored person no longer appear on your side. It is discreet, immediate, reversible, and it deprives nobody else of anything — unlike a ban, which requires you to own the room. Faced with somebody tiresome, it is the right answer.

Whisper prepares a private message to that person: all that is left is to write it. See the /p command in Chats.

Private room creates in one click a room on invitation where the two of you are both owners, and takes you there. It is the quickest way to get away together — to discuss a sale, a contract or an exchange of matings without the whole room following along.

What it is for first of all

Finding somebody. The chat may have several rooms, and the person you are looking for is not necessarily in yours: this list tells you which one to join. It is also the way to check that a correspondent really is there before writing them a long message.
