My contracts
Owners offer you their horses to train: this is where you answer. A counter in the menu signals the pending offers, so that you do not miss them.
But the page does not stop at offers: it also lists the horses of which you are already the trainer under contract. So it is your duty roster as much as your inbox. The Pending / Accepted filter separates the two.
Judging before saying yes
Each line gives you what you need to decide: the horse and its description, its genetics, its owner and its last race.
That is not decoration. A horse whose characteristics are already close to their maximums will not leave you much to do; a well-bred young horse is on the contrary a fine assignment. And the owner's name counts too: you are going to work with him.
The filter takes up every genetic criterion, plus age, speciality and sex. When several offers arrive together, that is the way to spot the ones worth the trouble.
Answering
On each line, Accept and Refuse. Once the contract is accepted, the first link gives way to the mention Accepted — but Refuse stays, and that is how you withdraw from a contract you no longer want.
The actions menu does the same on a selection: handy when an owner entrusts you with ten horses at once. It also lets you place your trainer's folders on the ticked horses, which is the right moment to do it.
The detail of what each answer carries with it is in Contract.
After accepting
The horse appears at once in My trainings, and there it will display To define: the previous trainer's programme is not passed on to you. Set yours without waiting, otherwise the horse works at random in the meantime.
It is the first act of any new contract, and the only urgent one.
From the other side
To see the same business from the point of view of whoever is recruiting, see My contracts in the Owner menu — in particular what a change of trainer makes be lost, and why.
