A method
The window that creates or modifies a training method: a name, and the four sections of the round.
A method is a training programme saved under a name, which you then apply in one click to any horse. What that changes in your way of playing is explained in My methods; this page describes only the form.
The name
Twenty characters, and it only appears for you. Make it descriptive rather than pretty: you will read it again in a drop-down list, at the moment of choosing, and that is where it has to tell you what it does. “Speed 3 sections” is worth more than “My favourite”.
The four sections
The form is exactly that of the training window, down to the same thumbnails: see Training for the detail of what each setting produces.
What there is to set depends on the world:
- On Almina and Bezir, the round alone — the ground of each of the four sections.
- On Chorus, each section carries in addition a length and an effort. The total of the distances is displayed above and updates at each modification: that is what to keep an eye on, since it is what has to stay within the training distance the horse can take.
Saving touches no horse
That is the point to remember. A method is a template, not an order: saving it launches no training and changes nothing in the training already set. Modifying a method you applied yesterday to ten horses does not modify them — they keep the settings they received.
You can therefore correct your methods with no risk at all, and that is what they are for: a recipe is refined by reading it again afterwards.
Two pieces of practical advice
Create several rather than one perfect one. They cost nothing. One per objective — developing speed, keeping a horse in form, starting again after an injury — serves better than a single one that is endlessly retouched.
Do not redo the game's ones. The methods provided — Spe+++, Sp4 and the others — are already in the training window's list and are not displayed here. Your methods are the ones they do not cover.
