My methods
A method is a training round saved under a name. It is your library of recipes: you build it here, and you then apply it in one click to any horse from the training window.
Without methods, each new charge calls for setting four sections by hand. With them, putting a training programme in place becomes a matter of choosing a line in a list.
The list
Your methods are sorted by name. What you see of them depends on the world, since the settings are not the same.
- On Almina and Bezir: the name and the round, that is to say the four grounds.
- On Chorus: the name, the distance, the effort and the round — the three settings each section carries.
Click the name to reopen and modify the method. The bin deletes it, after confirmation. The New button, at the top, creates one.
The methods on this page are yours only. Those the game offers to everybody — Spe+++, Sp4 and the others — do not appear here: they only appear in the training window's list, and cannot be modified.
Creating a method
The form is exactly that of the training window: a name, then the four sections with their thumbnails and their arrows. On Almina and Bezir, only the grounds are to be chosen. On Chorus a length and an effort per section are added, and the total is displayed as you make your settings — a new method starts at 200 metres per section at Light effort.
The name accepts twenty characters. Take care over it: it is what will be displayed in the programme column for every horse to which you have applied that method. A name that states the objective — Young speed, Stamina 2000 — will save you time at every glance at My trainings.
A method knows no horse
That is the point to understand, above all on Chorus. A method exists for itself: no maximum distance applies here, since that maximum is particular to each horse and depends on its constitution.
You can therefore save a method whose total goes beyond what a given horse is capable of. If you apply it to that horse and save its programme, the lengths will be shortened automatically and a star will be added to the name — the sign that the programme actually set is not quite the method.
Hence a piece of advice: keep several versions of the same round at different distances. As the maximum distance of a Chorus horse rises with its constitution, you will need the short version for the young ones and the long one for fully made horses, and you will move from one to the other as they progress.
Deleting or renaming does not touch your horses
Rest easy before clearing out: the method's name is copied onto the horse at the moment you save its programme. Deleting the method, or renaming it, therefore changes nothing in the training under way or in what is displayed in your lists.
The other side of it is that a modified name does not spread by itself: the horses keep the old one until you save their programme again. And as that saving resets the progression counters to zero, it is generally not worth it for a simple question of wording.
Going further
The training window explains what the settings are worth and how to read your progression measurements, and My trainings is the screen where everything is decided day to day.
