Level in a clan

The window that changes a clan member's level. Reserved for the owner, it opens by clicking the level displayed in the list of members.

The four levels

LevelWhat it allows in addition
MemberNothing more: they see the clan, write on its forums, give to its purse.
RecruiterInviting players, accepting and refusing applications. They get the counter of requests.
ModeratorCreating the clan's forums and moderating them.
OwnerEverything: modifying the clan, changing levels, excluding, disposing of the horses and of the purse.

The roles do not accumulate by addition: Moderator is not Recruiter, and the other way round. Only the owner has both. An active clan therefore generally needs both appointments.

What the appointment does at once

Forum moderation follows the level, with no intervention:

  • moving somebody up to Moderator or Owner makes them moderator of all the clan's forums;
  • bringing them back down removes them from all of them.

Several owners, and why that is prudent

Nothing forbids having several owners, and it is in fact the only way for a clan not to depend on one single person. An owner who stops logging in blocks everything: the levels, the clan's horses, the common purse.

Careful, though: an owner has the power to take the title away from you. One does not appoint lightly.

Demoting yourself

You can change your own level, including going down. If you were the only owner, the clan is not left leaderless: the game automatically promotes another member — the highest-ranking, and at equal rank the most recently logged in.

It is handy for handing over, but irreversible on your side: you will not be able to go back on your decision alone, since changing levels is precisely the power you have just given up.

Finally, a co-manager never opens this window, even when managing an owner's account. See co-management.
