Clan's horses
These horses belong to no member: they belong to the clan itself. All the members see them here, with their genetics, but only the clan's owner can dispose of them.
How a horse gets there
A member gives it to the clan. On the horse's card, the Give to the clan link passes it on for good — see A horse's card. It is the act of a player who is leaving, of a breeder putting a stallion into common ownership, or of a member who wants a foal to benefit somebody other than themselves.
Horses not yet born do not appear in this list: they will appear in it on the day they are born.
A clan horse does not race
That is the thing to know before giving anything: as long as a horse belongs to the clan, it cannot be entered in any race. It has neither a player as owner to pay the entry, nor a jockey to ride it.
This page is therefore not a stable, it is a reserve. A horse waits there for a member to take it back. A champion left to the clan will win nothing more as long as nobody looks after it — bear that in mind before parking a good horse there “for the time being”.
What the clan's owner can do
Two columns and an actions menu only appear for them.
- Give to a member: that is the way out of the reserve, and the only way of putting a horse back into activity. The actions menu lets you do it for several horses at once.
- Retirement: the retirement date is displayed and modified, here too in batches — Retire the selection and Cancel the retirement. Useful for settling old horses nobody will take back.
The other members only see the list. They can read the cards, compare the genetics, spot a horse that interests them — and ask for it, but it is up to the clan's owner to decide.
One restriction to know about: a co-manager never has these rights, even when managing the account that owns the clan. Clan responsibilities are not delegated through co-management. See co-management.
The “Pregnant” line
A clan mare carrying a foal says so. Look at that line before giving her away or retiring her: what is on the way counts in the decision, and the member who receives her will inherit what follows.
Finding a horse again
The list is sorted by name. The filter offers the name, the speciality, the sex, the age and the whole of the genetics — on Chorus, constitution and birth constitution in addition. Enough to sort through a reserve that has grown as people left.
