Matings sold
The history of your mating listings, including those still running.
Same columns as for horses, with one more: the quantity. And the same peculiarity — the screen does not only show what has been sold, it shows everything, with a filter on the status to find one's way.
Reading a line
- The stallion concerned.
- The status of the sale, and the purchaser when it is concluded.
- The type of sale, the deadline, the quantity and the price for one.
The five statuses are those of horses: Still running, Concluded, No buyers, Deleted, Refused. They are described in Horses sold.
Reading the quantity of a concluded auction
A detail that surprises if one does not know the mechanism: an auction bearing on several matings gets split up. Each mating is awarded separately, at the amount offered by its acquirer.
A batch of five matings put up for auction will therefore leave several concluded lines in this history, of quantity 1, at different prices — and not a single line of quantity 5. It is not a mistake, it is how batches are shared out among the best bidders. The detail is in Offer on a mating.
Fixed-price sales can be split up too, but for another reason: a buyer is entitled to take only part of the batch, and the rest goes back on the market as a new sale.
What one comes here for
The market price for your own stallions. It is the main use, and it is more useful here than for horses: a stallion sells several times over, and the history of his matings tells you exactly what breeders are ready to pay for him. A stallion whose matings systematically go above the minimum deserves to have his fixed price raised.
Who breeds with your stallions. The purchaser column tells you which breeders come back. They are your customers, and they are the ones it is worth reserving a mating for when your quota allows it.
What did not go. The No buyers lines are instructive: they tied up quota for nothing. If they pile up on one same stallion, the market does not want him at the price asked — or not at all.
