Records

The world's best times, distance by distance and age by age. It is the track's roll of honour: appearing in it once is enough, the record stays attached to your horse.

Two rankings in one

The Type filter commands everything, and it cannot be removed:

  • Absolute: the best times ever achieved, since the world opened. It is the real record of achievement, and it is rarely beaten.
  • 30 days: the best times of the last month. Far more accessible — that is where a good horse of the moment can appear, even without taking on the legends.

A speciality filter separates the flat, hurdling and trotting, which obviously do not have the same times.

Reading a line

The horse, its age at the time of the performance, the length of the race, the time achieved, the date, then the owner, the trainer and the jockey.

The age counts as much as the distance: records are held by distance-and-age pair, so that a three-year-old does not have to compete with a made horse. A young horse well ridden can therefore enter the roll of honour on its own category alone.

The ranking orders itself by distance or by age, as you choose — handy for seeing at a stroke every record over a distance that interests you before entering a horse at it.

What is worth looking at

Before aiming at a record, look at the time to beat over your distance and at your age, in the 30-day view first: that is the realistic target. And note the name of the jockey on the lines that impress you — a record is as much a successful ride as a good horse.
