Horses
The ranking of the world's fastest horses, measured by their balanced time.
Unlike the player rankings, which count money over a month, this one is purely sporting and bears on each horse's current performance.
The balanced time
It is a horse's reference time: its real time brought back to the kilometre, then corrected for the distance, the weather and the speciality, so as to stay comparable from one race to another. The lower it is, the better.
The game keeps the best one for thirty days, then works out another. A horse that no longer runs therefore sees its balanced time wiped, and with it its place here: this ranking rewards activity as much as quality. See A horse's card.
Reading a line
The place, the horse with its description, then its owner, its trainer and its jockey, and finally its balanced time.
The three team names are not there for decoration: a horse at the head of this ranking is a reference for the three professions that look after it. It is the best place to spot a trainer or a jockey to entrust a horse to — and all those names are clickable.
Searching in the ranking
The filter lets you narrow down by speciality, sex and age — indispensable, since a two-year-old trotter and an eight-year-old galloper have nothing to contest with each other. One can also filter by horse's name, or by owner, trainer and jockey: enough to see at a stroke where all the horses of one same stable stand.
And for the best times ever achieved, distance by distance, see Records.
